Clara attaches to the headrest with an adjustable strap and is held against the seat back by your vehicle's seat belt, which loops through a dedicated channel on the seat for added stability. It's designed to hold the seat in place during normal driving — it isn't a crash-tested safety seat. The built-in safety leash inside the seat helps keep your dog settled and secure during the journey.

What's the difference between the 12kg and 16kg weight figures?
Clara holds dogs up to 16kg comfortably when used as a fixed car seat — the base is stable, the sides support, and the seat belt does the work. As a carrier bag worn over the shoulder, the practical limit is 12kg. For small dogs in the 2–12kg range, this is full flexibility across all three uses; for dogs above 12kg, Clara works in the car but stays in the car.

Can I take it on a plane?
No — at 53 × 47 × 36 cm, Clara sits above most airlines' cabin carrier dimensions. She's built for ground use and car travel, not airline cabin compliance. For air travel, a separate cabin-approved carrier is recommended.
