Enrichment Toys

If enrichment is new, start at Level 1. If your dog already searches confidently, digs into folds, pulls pieces apart, or works through hiding spots without much help, Level 2 may be a better fit. Going slightly easier is better than starting too hard.

We look at four things: finding, access, manipulation, and persistence. In other words: how hidden is the reward, how difficult is it to reach, what does your dog need to move or work through, and how long do they need to keep trying?

Yes. A toy only enters the Bisou enrichment system if its scale, access points, resistance, and overall construction work for smaller dogs. A toy isn't “advanced” just because a Chihuahua can't physically get into it.

No. Harder isn't better. The best level is the one that keeps your dog curious and successful without making them frustrated.

When they understand the toy quickly, find the rewards without much trial and error, and no longer need to work very hard for the result. Keep the easier toys too — some days an easy win is exactly the point.
