Size Guide for Clothing
How to Measure
Chest — Widest part of ribcage, just behind front legs.
Neck — Base of neck, where a collar naturally sits.
Back length — Base of neck to base of tail.
💡 Compare to something your dog already wears.
Between Sizes?
Size down (usually).
Small dogs are more comfortable in a snug fit — too big can twist, bunch or cause tripping.
Size up (sometimes):
- Frenchie, Pug, Boston Terrier → broader chests
- Puppies under 8 months → still growing
- Layering → outer layer needs room
Quick Rules
Size down: sweaters, bodysuits, snoods, raincoats, jackets
Why: better warmth, cleaner look, prevents catching.
Size up: harnesses for pullers, recovery suits, broad-chested breeds
Why: comfort + breathing space.
Breed Tips
- Frenchie/Pug/Boston → size up
- Dachshund/Corgi → back length matters most
- Italian Greyhound/Whippet → size down
- Fluffy coats (Pomeranian, Bichon, Maltese, Shih Tzu) → measure under the fur
